PROJECTS
THE PROJECT
The Camera Store TV is one of the most popular Canadian based Youtube channels, with over 320k subscribers. Hosted by Evelyn Drake and Dave Paul who are dedicated to bringing viewers the latest info on photography and videography.
Brendan Schmidt is the lead videographer and editor for TCSTV, where he works alongside Evelyn and Dave to create unique and informative camera reviews.
With content being released almost weekly Brendan must work efficiently while maintaining the highest of standards for content.
THE PROJECT
Transporting the viewer to Alberta's sprawling prairies and showcasing what it is like to endure a season of waterfowl hunting in its raw natural form, Hired to Hunt Season Four features some of the best waterfowl hunting in North America. Hosted by Claudio Ongaro and his dedicated team of guides, Hired to Hunt Season Four airs on WILD TV and Carbon TV and gives an inside look at what it takes to make it as a hunting lodge.
For two and half months Brendan Schmidt lived and breathed waterfowl hunting, living at the remote camp he functioned as one of two videographers tasked with capturing the daily hunts and events of Claudio and his team as they hosted 35 groups of eager hunters wanting to experience what Alberta waterfowl has to offer.
Following the hunting season Brendan Schmidt functioned as one of two Editors tasked with creating thirteen episodes that portray the excitement and hardships endured throughout the two and half months, ultimately becoming Season Four of Hired to Hunt.
THE PROJECT
Benelli Canada underwent a rebranding project in which testimonials from their brand ambassadors were requested. Claudio Ongaro of Hired to Hunt lives and breathes waterfowl hunting and only trusts a Benelli Super Black Eagle for himself and his clients.
Brendan Schmidt was selected as the lead photographer to capture Claudio Ongaro putting his Benelli Super Black Eagle III through its paces.
The final images were used on the Benelli Canada website as well as the 2018 Benelli Canada Catalog.
KINDNESS OPEN
Once a year the Calgary Drop-In hosts a charity golf tournament and silent auction at the Silvertip Resort in Canmore, Alberta. The Kindness Open brings awareness to homelessness in Calgary while raising money for the Drop-In Centre.
Brendan Schmidt was tasked with photographing the event, capturing memories of each group during their round as well as the silent auction that took place afterwards.
Each individual was given a print version of their group photo overlooking the beautiful hole 15.
LIFE-SIZE GINGERBREAD HOUSE
Combine more than 150 kilograms of flour, 165 kg of icing sugar, 16 litres of egg whites, 10 pounds of candy, two pounds of spices, that's the recipe Fairmont Palliser chefs used to create a life-sized gingerbread house in downtown Calgary.
A collaborative project between the Fairmont Palliser, Big Rock Brewery, Last Best Brewing, and Wild Rose in support of the Calgary Drop-In Centre, Calgary Foodbank, and Ronald Mcdonald House.
Brendan Schmidt was lead videographer and editor tasked with showcasing the entire build from the initial stages to the final reveal.
Brendan's video was used as a wrap up and promo piece showing the project itself come to fruition and advertising the opening of Calgary's Gingerbread House.
